Right-click commands for DFN Attribute in the Interpretation Tree.

Item Context Menu

Right-click an individual dfn attribute in the Interpretation Tree.

Actions

  • Distance — Generate a per-fracture distance attribute (distance from each fracture centre to the proximity-filter reference geometry) (ID_DFN_DISTANCE)

Geometry submenu

  • Dip — Generate a per-fracture dip attribute (angle from horizontal of the fracture plane, 0-90 degrees) (ID_DFN_DIP)
  • Azimuth — Generate a per-fracture azimuth attribute (strike direction of the fracture normal, 0-360 degrees) (ID_DFN_AZIMUTH)
  • Width — Generate a per-fracture width attribute (along-strike extent of each fracture polygon) (ID_DFN_WIDTH)
  • Height — Generate a per-fracture height attribute (down-dip extent of each fracture polygon) (ID_DFN_HEIGHT)
  • Area — Generate a per-fracture area attribute (length x width of each fracture polygon) (ID_DFN_AREA)

Connectivity submenu

  • Fracture Intersections — Generate a per-fracture intersection count attribute (number of other fractures this fracture intersects in 3D) (ID_DFN_FRACTUREINTERSECTCOUNT)
  • Connected Groups — Generate a per-fracture connected-group attribute (integer ID for each connected component in the fracture graph) (ID_DFN_CONNECTEDGROUPS)
  • Component Size — Generate a per-fracture component-size attribute (number of fractures in the connected component this fracture belongs to) (ID_DFN_COMPONENTSIZE)
  • Total Intersection Length — Generate a per-fracture total intersection length attribute (sum of 3D intersection-segment lengths touching the fracture) (ID_DFN_TOTALINTERSECTIONLENGTH)
  • Intersection Density — Generate a per-fracture intersection-density attribute (total intersection length normalised by fracture area) (ID_DFN_INTERSECTIONDENSITY)
  • Mean Intersection Angle — Generate a per-fracture mean intersection angle attribute (average dihedral angle between this fracture and its intersecting neighbours) (ID_DFN_MEANINTERSECTIONANGLE)

Topology submenu

  • Node Count — Generate a per-fracture total node count attribute (I + Y + X nodes touching the fracture) (ID_DFN_NODECOUNT)
  • I-Node Count (Tips) — Generate a per-fracture I-node attribute (count of isolated fracture tips, after Sanderson et al. 2018) (ID_DFN_INODECOUNT)
  • Y-Node Count (Abutments) — Generate a per-fracture Y-node attribute (count of T-style abutting terminations on the fracture, after Sanderson et al. 2018) (ID_DFN_YNODECOUNT)
  • X-Node Count (Crossings) — Generate a per-fracture X-node attribute (count of four-way crossings on the fracture, after Sanderson et al. 2018) (ID_DFN_XNODECOUNT)
  • Branch Count — Generate a per-fracture branch count attribute (number of graph branches incident on the fracture, after Sanderson et al. 2018) (ID_DFN_BRANCHCOUNT)
  • Connections Per Line — Generate a per-fracture connections-per-line attribute (count of distinct neighbouring fractures intersected) (ID_DFN_CONNECTIONSPERLINE)

Propagation submenu

  • Initialize from Tips — Initialise tip propagation: seed the active-tip set from existing fracture endpoints so that Step or Run can extend them (ID_DFN_PROPAGATION_INIT)
  • Step — Advance tip propagation by a single step: extend each active tip by its step length, apply direction noise, and terminate tips that abut other fractures (ID_DFN_PROPAGATION_STEP)
  • Run to Completion — Run tip propagation until no active tips remain or the per-tip step/length budget is exhausted (uses the configured stress tensor and abutting rules) (ID_DFN_PROPAGATION_RUN)

Stress submenu

  • Normal Stress — Generate a per-fracture normal stress attribute (resolved normal traction on each fracture under the configured stress tensor) (ID_DFN_NORMALSTRESS)
  • Shear Stress — Generate a per-fracture shear stress attribute (resolved tangential traction on each fracture under the configured stress tensor) (ID_DFN_SHEARSTRESS)
  • Slip Tendency — Generate a per-fracture slip tendency attribute (shear stress / normal stress) under the configured stress tensor, after Morris et al. 1996 (ID_DFN_SLIPTENDENCY)
  • Dilation Tendency — Generate a per-fracture dilation tendency attribute ((sigma1 - sigma_n) / (sigma1 - sigma3) under the configured stress tensor) (ID_DFN_DILATIONTENDENCY)
  • Fracture Susceptibility — Generate a per-fracture susceptibility attribute (proximity to the Mohr failure envelope under the configured stress tensor) (ID_DFN_FRACTURESUSCEPTIBILITY)
  • Critically Stressed — Generate a per-fracture critically-stressed flag (1 where slip tendency exceeds the failure threshold under the configured stress tensor, after Morris et al. 1996) (ID_DFN_CRITICALLYSTRESSED)
