Setting the coordinate system

To make VRGS coordinate system aware you will need to set the coordinate system on the project properties. The project settings are found in the menu bar at the top of the properties panel.

After selecting the project properties button you can define the coordinate system in the EPSG code property. Click the ellipses (...) button on the right of the property to bring up the coordinate definition dialog.

Coordinate System Definition

The coordinate definition dialog has an extensive list of coordinate systems and their associated EPSG codes. Use the search button to find the appropriate coordinate system. Here we will look for any coordinate systems that contain OSGB. Enter OSGB in the search box and click search.

You can now select the most appropriate coordinate system for your project.

Note: The search looks for the entire search phrase, so start simple eg. UTM, then refine your search phrase after you have seen the initial results.
