Annotations Ribbon Tab

Commands available on the Annotations ribbon tab, grouped by panel.

Annotations​

Scale Bar​

Tooltip: Insert a scale bar

Place a scale-bar reference object at the picked location.

Dropdown items:

  • 5.0 Metres — Insert a 5 m scale bar
  • 1.0 Metre — Insert a 1 m scale bar
  • 10.0 cm — Insert a 10 cm scale bar
  • Triaxial 5.0 Metres — Insert a triaxial 5 m scale

Measure Vertical​

Tooltip: Distance measurement tools

Measure vertical, horizontal, 3D and multi-segment 3D distances in the scene.

Dropdown items:

  • Measure Vertical — Measure vertical distance
  • Measure Horizontal — Measure horizontal distance
  • Measure 3D — Measure 3D distance
  • Measure Multi 3D — Measure multi-segment 3D distance

Waypoint​

Tooltip: Add a waypoint

Place a named waypoint annotation at the picked location.

Billboard​

Tooltip: Add a billboard

Place a billboard image annotation that always faces the camera.

Cross Section​

Tooltip: Add a cross-section

Define a vertical cross-section plane through the scene.

Label​

Tooltip: Add a label

Place a text label annotation at the picked location.

GCP​

Tooltip: Ground control point tools

Add tiepoints (and matching targets) used for registration and transforms.

Dropdown items:

  • Add Tiepoint — Add a tiepoint
  • Add Tiepoint and Target — Add a tiepoint and target

Multimedia​

Tooltip: Attach multimedia

Attach an image, video or audio annotation to the picked location.

Tooltip: Attach a web link

Attach a hyperlink annotation to the picked location.

Tape Measure​

Tooltip: Tape measure

Use the tape-measure tool to interactively measure distances in the 3D view.

Orthopanel​

Tooltip: Insert an orthopanel

Insert an axis-aligned image panel (orthopanel) defined by picked points or the current view.

Dropdown items:

  • From 2 Points — Orthopanel from 2 points
  • From 3 Points — Orthopanel from 3 points
  • From Viewpoint — Orthopanel from viewpoint

Class Label​

Tooltip: Label to be used in image segmentation

Class label used when accepting Segment Anything (SAM) selections on photographs.

Sample​

Tooltip: Sample attributes at a point

Pick a point in the scene to sample attribute values at that location.

Sketch​

Tooltip: Free-hand sketch

Draw a free-hand sketch annotation directly in the 3D view.

Colour​

Tooltip: Sketch colour

Choose the colour used for new sketch strokes.

Size​

Tooltip: Sketch brush size

Brush radius used by the free-hand sketch tool, in pixels.
