Seismic Volumes
Right-click commands for Seismic Volumes in the Data Tree. The group holds SEG-Y-backed seismic volumes and synthetic (forward-modelled) seismic sections.
Source resources: IDR_DT_DEFAULTGROUP, IDR_DT_DEFAULTITEM (+
seismic-only items appended in code).
Group Context Menu
Right-click the Seismic Volumes group node.
Actions
- New — Create a new (empty) entry (
ID_GROUPPOPUP_NEW) - Group / Ungroup — Organise items into sub-groups
(
ID_PROJEXP_GROUP/ID_PROJEXP_UNGROUP) - Spreadsheet — Spreadsheet view of the group
(
ID_DEFAULTGROUP_SPREADSHEET) - Import — Import SEG-Y files (
.sgy/.segy, multi-select). Each file opens the import preview dialog — textual header, auto-detected byte layout, editable fields — before the background scan starts (ID_GROUPPOPUP_IMPORT) - Export — Export (
ID_GROUPPOPUP_EXPORT)
Item Context Menu
Right-click an individual seismic volume in the Data Tree.
Actions
- Navigate To — Fly the 3D view to the volume
(
ID_POPUP_ITEM_GOTO) - Group / Ungroup — Organise into sub-groups
(
ID_PROJEXP_GROUP/ID_PROJEXP_UNGROUP) - Position — Copy / paste the object position
(
ID_DEFAULTITEM_COPYPOSITION/ID_DEFAULTITEM_PASTEPOSITION) - Coordinate Conversion — Convert between coordinate systems
(
ID_CONVERTCOORDINATES_CRSTOCRS) - Copy URI — Copy the object's project URI
(
ID_DEFAULTITEM_COPYURI) - Export — Export (
ID_PROJEXP_EXPORT) - Delete — Remove the volume from the project (the SEG-Y file on
disk is untouched) (
ID_POPUP_ITEM_DELETE)
Seismic-only actions
These appear only on SEG-Y volumes (synthetic sections get the default items above):
- Pick Horizon in 3D View — Arms the horizon digitiser: clicks in
the 3D view ray-pick the volume's active sections with snap-to-peak,
and Enter / double-click commits the points as a standard polyline.
See Horizon picking
(
ID_SEISMIC_PICK_HORIZON) - SEG-Y Header & Field Map… — Reopens the import preview for the
bound file: the textual header C-cards, the detection summary, and
the volume's current trace-header byte layout. Pressing OK with
edited values applies the new field map and rescans
(
ID_SEISMIC_VIEW_HEADER) - Compute Attribute ▸ — Flyout that derives a new attribute volume
from the cube. See Computing attributes.
- Per-trace (computed on the fly): Envelope
(
ID_SEISMIC_ATTR_ENVELOPE), RMS Amplitude (ID_SEISMIC_ATTR_RMS), Instantaneous Phase (ID_SEISMIC_ATTR_INSTPHASE), Instantaneous Frequency (ID_SEISMIC_ATTR_INSTFREQ), Sweetness (ID_SEISMIC_ATTR_SWEETNESS), Relative Acoustic Impedance (ID_SEISMIC_ATTR_RELIMPEDANCE) - Structural Dip + Azimuth… (
ID_SEISMIC_ATTR_DIPAZIMUTH), Coherence (Semblance)… (ID_SEISMIC_ATTR_COHERENCE), Curvature (K+, K-, mean, Gauss)… (ID_SEISMIC_ATTR_CURVATURE) — volumetric attributes that materialise new SEG-Y files (need a 3-D cube) - Spectral Decomposition… — one iso-frequency volume per band
(
ID_SEISMIC_ATTR_SPECTRAL)
- Per-trace (computed on the fly): Envelope
(
- Create RGB Blend (3 selected)… — Composite three per-trace
attribute volumes of the same source (Ctrl-click to select all three
first) into one RGB colour section. See RGB blend
