Scan Lines

The Scan Lines branch holds fracture scan lines: a line laid across the outcrop along which the fractures that cross it are recorded, giving fracture spacing and linear intensity (P10). Create one with Interpretations → Scan Line, either oriented from the displayed fracture orientations or digitised by hand, then log the fracture positions along it. Scan lines feed the fracture intensity and DFN tools, and can be exported as CSV or JSON.

Context menus

The branch header shows the standard group menu, and each scan line shows the standard item menu with one addition:

  • Paste Orientation — Apply an orientation copied from a measurement in the Orientation branch. (ID_BEDATTITUDE_PASTEORIENTATION)

Both standard menus are listed on the Standard Item and Group Menus page.
